Editorial Process
Editorial Management Process
The editorial process at Jack Sparrow Publishers is designed to ensure that every manuscript undergoes a transparent, fair, and rigorous evaluation before publication. The Editorial Management System (EMS) is the backbone of Jack Sparrow Publishers’ publication workflow. It is an online platform designed to streamline manuscript handling, peer review, communication, and final publication across regular issues, special issues, and conference proceedings.
Authors submit their manuscripts through the official online submission portal or via designated email (depending on the journal/conference).
All submissions must follow the Author Guidelines in terms of structure, formatting,
and referencing style.
A cover letter and author declaration form (originality, conflict of interest, copyright) must accompany the manuscript.
The Editorial Office verifies completeness, formatting, and adherence to submission guidelines.
A plagiarism check (Turnitin/iThenticate) is performed. Manuscripts exceeding the
similarity threshold are returned to authors or rejected.
The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) or Handling Editor conducts a preliminary review to ensure the manuscript fits the journal’s or issue’s scope and objectives.
Outcomes:
Sent to peer review,
Returned for technical corrections, or
Desk-rejected (if out of scope or of insufficient quality).

Review outcomes:

Authors receive consolidated reviewer comments and are asked to revise the manuscript.
A response-to-reviewers document is mandatory, highlighting how each comment was addressed.
Revised manuscripts are rechecked by editors (and sometimes reviewers for major revisions).
The Editor-in-Chief or Guest Editor (for special issues) makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations.
Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.
Rejected manuscripts may be
recommended for resubmission in revised form or suggested for other Jack Sparrow journals (if suitable).
Accepted papers undergo professional copyediting, typesetting, and formatting according to Jack Sparrow Publishers’ template.
Authors receive galley proofs for final corrections.
Each paper is assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and, where applicable, an ISBN/ISSN reference.
Articles are published online first (early access), followed by inclusion in the scheduled issue/proceedings.
Published works are archived in the Jack Sparrow Digital Library.
Proceedings, regular issues, and special
issues are submitted to indexing databases such as Google Scholar, CrossRef, DOAJ, Scopus, and Web of Science (depending on package/eligibility).
Authors receive official certificates of publication (and presentation for conferences).
Post-publication corrections or retractions are handled following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
